Ismail Issa President
Ismail received a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo, and a Master of Engineering from the University of Calgary, Alberta. . He is a Senior Manager and a shareholder in a Canadian consulting firm. Ismail is active in promoting the cause of Zakat (ordained charity); thus in an effort to bridge the gap between those who have and those who have not , Zakat is the islamic social tool of helping the poor and the needy.
Mustafa Elkalza Treasurer
Mustafa is a Certified Management Accountant who has been working in the non-profit sector for the past seven years. He brings to MIZAN financial management and not-for-profit experience.
Hanaa Elkalza Secretary
A Community Worker that is dedicated to supporting, engaging, empowering and inspiring community members to reach their maximum potential. Hanaa has recently completed her second career training as a Community Worker in order to follow her passion for social justice and a more equitable society for all. Alleviating poverty and supporting socially marginalized populations is of particular interest to Hanaa which is the purpose of her involvement with MIZAN.
Mostafa Elbagoury Vice President
Mostafa is currently working as a consultant with the Investors Group; he focuses on Islamically compliant investments plans for education and retirement. Prior to that he was an information technology consultant at ME Consulting Inc., and at IBM Canada Ltd. Mostafa is one of the early founders of MIZAN.
Ansar Khan Director
Ansar is a retired environmental engineering professional; for thirty years he worked for the Canadian federal government. He has been an active volunteer for many years in the Muslim community and other not for profit organizations. He brings to MIZAN a vast array of senior management experience.
Mohamed Sawwaf Director
Mohamed is currently working for the Investors Group; he possesses qualities that will help MIZAN to move forward to achieve its goal. Mohamed has served on previous not-for-profit boards and is always looking to take on a new challenge.
Sonia Amin Director
Sonia's concern for the well-being of those less fortunate has been a constant impetus for her lifelong humanitarian work. Her ambition to involve the community in the same initiative motivated her to join efforts with other like-minded individuals to be one of the early founders of MIZAN. She draws on twenty years of experience from her work with the Ontario Community Support Association; she has constant thirst for serving those who are in need.
